# Secret Browser vs Guest Mode

The clearest difference is ads: Guest Mode at none against Secret Browser's shown. Guest Mode also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (83% vs 75%). Secret Browser's advantage is ratings volume (2.5K vs 15) and iOS requirement (13.5 vs 17.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secret Browser sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Guest Mode sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Secret Browser against 4.6 for Guest Mode. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secret Browser has 2.5K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 75% of Secret Browser's written reviews are positive against 83% of Guest Mode's.

Secret Browser ships an update every 2 months, Guest Mode every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
