# iControlAV vs Dolby XP

The clearest difference is rating: Dolby XP at 2.3 against iControlAV's 1.8. Dolby XP also leads on device support (4 vs 2). iControlAV's advantage is review sentiment (31% vs 6%) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 15.1). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Dolby XP holds the better App Store score, 2.3 against 1.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 56 and 52 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of iControlAV's written reviews are positive against 6% of Dolby XP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iControlAV ships an update every 3 months, Dolby XP every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
