# Garmin Pilot vs AeroWeather Pro

The clearest difference is price: Garmin Pilot at Free against AeroWeather Pro's $4.79. Garmin Pilot also leads on rating (4.7 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (4.1K vs 356). AeroWeather Pro's advantage is review sentiment (51% vs 42%) and chart position (#9 vs #47). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Garmin Pilot is free to download; AeroWeather Pro costs $4.79 up front. Garmin Pilot sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and AeroWeather Pro sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Garmin Pilot holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Garmin Pilot has 4.1K ratings behind it against 356, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Garmin Pilot's written reviews are positive against 51% of AeroWeather Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Garmin Pilot ships an update fortnightly, AeroWeather Pro every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
