# Solitaire Classic vs *Solitaire*

The clearest difference is rating: Solitaire Classic at 4.6 against *Solitaire*'s 3.3. Solitaire Classic also leads on ratings volume (2.7K vs 55). *Solitaire*'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solitaire Classic sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and *Solitaire* sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solitaire Classic holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Solitaire Classic has 2.7K ratings behind it against 55, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Solitaire Classic's written reviews are positive against 55% of *Solitaire*'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solitaire Classic ships an update fortnightly, *Solitaire* every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
