# BlaBlaCar vs Uber

The clearest difference is ads: Uber at none against BlaBlaCar's shown. Uber also leads on ratings volume (17M vs 16K) and rating (4.9 vs 4.7). BlaBlaCar's advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Uber holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Uber has 17M ratings behind it against 16K, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
