# KEXP vs Submerge

The clearest difference is rating: Submerge at 5.0 against KEXP's 4.0. KEXP's advantage is ratings volume (271 vs 3) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Submerge holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KEXP has 271 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

KEXP ships an update every 2 months, Submerge every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
