# Train Conductor vs Mini Metro

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mini Metro at none against Train Conductor's 2. Mini Metro also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (31K vs 271). Train Conductor's advantage is price ($2.99 vs $3.99) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 12.0). On review sentiment, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Train Conductor costs $2.99 and Mini Metro $3.99 up front. Train Conductor sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Mini Metro asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mini Metro holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mini Metro has 31K ratings behind it against 271, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Train Conductor's written reviews are positive against 89% of Mini Metro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Train Conductor ships an update every 3 months, Mini Metro every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
