# Birthdays vs Birthday Countdown ‎

The clearest difference is price: Birthday Countdown ‎ at Free against Birthdays's $5.00. Birthday Countdown ‎ also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 141) and iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.6). Birthdays's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On rating, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Birthday Countdown ‎ is free to download; Birthdays costs $5.00 up front. Birthdays sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Birthday Countdown ‎ sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Birthdays holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Birthday Countdown ‎ has 2.1K ratings behind it against 141, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 82% and 81% positive.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
