# Newegg vs MyHackerTech App

The clearest difference is ads: Newegg at none against MyHackerTech App's shown. Newegg also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (144K vs 14). MyHackerTech App's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Newegg against 4.9 for MyHackerTech App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Newegg has 144K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Newegg ships an update every 3 weeks, MyHackerTech App every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
