# Newegg vs Techsnap

Newegg and Techsnap both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Techsnap's written reviews are positive against 49% of Newegg's. Newegg's advantage is ratings volume (144K vs 19) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Techsnap holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Newegg has 144K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 49% of Newegg's written reviews are positive against 100% of Techsnap's.

Newegg ships an update every 3 weeks, Techsnap every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
