# STX vs Premiere 2026

The clearest difference is rating: Premiere 2026 at 2.8 against STX's 2.0. Premiere 2026 also leads on monetization model (free vs paid) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). STX's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 14%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Premiere 2026 holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 13 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of STX's written reviews are positive against 14% of Premiere 2026's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

STX ships an update every 5 months, Premiere 2026 every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
