# Grade Calculator vs Finale

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Grade Calculator at none against Finale's 1. Grade Calculator also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Finale's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 92%) and iOS requirement (13.1 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Finale sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Grade Calculator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Grade Calculator holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 29 and 62 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Grade Calculator's written reviews are positive against 100% of Finale's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Grade Calculator ships an update monthly, Finale every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
