# Voice Band vs Voice Synth Modular

The clearest difference is price: Voice Synth Modular at Free against Voice Band's $2.99. Voice Synth Modular also leads on rating (4.2 vs 3.0) and update cadence (monthly vs every 8 months). Voice Band's advantage is review sentiment (55% vs 41%) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.6). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Voice Synth Modular is free to download; Voice Band costs $2.99 up front. Voice Band sells 12 one-off in-app purchases and Voice Synth Modular sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Voice Synth Modular holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Voice Synth Modular has 3.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Voice Band's written reviews are positive against 41% of Voice Synth Modular's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Voice Band ships an update every 8 months, Voice Synth Modular monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
