# Bits und so vs Mac Life

The clearest difference is rating: Bits und so at 5.0 against Mac Life's 4.3. Bits und so also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). Mac Life's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 81%) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bits und so sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Mac Life sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bits und so holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mac Life has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Bits und so's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mac Life's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bits und so ships an update every 2 weeks, Mac Life every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
