# Bits und so vs Podcast App

The clearest difference is rating: Bits und so at 5.0 against Podcast App's 4.3. Podcast App's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 82%) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bits und so sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Podcast App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bits und so holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Podcast App has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Bits und so's written reviews are positive against 100% of Podcast App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bits und so ships an update fortnightly, Podcast App every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
