# Files vs HDD Manager

The clearest difference is rating: Files at 4.7 against HDD Manager's 1.0. Files also leads on ratings volume (13K vs 1). HDD Manager's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Files sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. HDD Manager asks for nothing beyond the download.

Files holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Files has 13K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
