# Files vs CrewAssign

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: CrewAssign at none against Files's 4. CrewAssign also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Files's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Files sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. CrewAssign asks for nothing beyond the download.

CrewAssign holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Files has 13K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Files ships an update every 4 months, CrewAssign every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
