# EchoLink vs Carrington

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: EchoLink at none against Carrington's 10. EchoLink also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Carrington's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (217 vs 41). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Carrington sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. EchoLink asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for EchoLink against 4.1 for Carrington. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Carrington has 217 ratings behind it against 41, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 62% of EchoLink's written reviews are positive against 54% of Carrington's.

EchoLink ships an update every 4 months, Carrington every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
