# EchoLink vs Hodgdon Reloading Manual

The clearest difference is review sentiment: EchoLink at 62% against Hodgdon Reloading Manual's 10%. EchoLink also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 13) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 10 months). Hodgdon Reloading Manual's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (835 vs 44). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hodgdon Reloading Manual sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. EchoLink asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hodgdon Reloading Manual holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hodgdon Reloading Manual has 835 ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of EchoLink's written reviews are positive against 10% of Hodgdon Reloading Manual's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EchoLink ships an update every 4 months, Hodgdon Reloading Manual every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
