# Dianping vs Remember Basic

The clearest difference is ads: Remember Basic at none against Dianping's shown. Remember Basic also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (50% vs 39%). Dianping's advantage is ratings volume (7K vs 7) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Dianping holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dianping has 7K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of Dianping's written reviews are positive against 50% of Remember Basic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dianping ships an update every 5 days, Remember Basic every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
