# Calculator + vs HexaCalc

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: HexaCalc at none against Calculator +'s 12. HexaCalc also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). Calculator +'s advantage is ratings volume (10K vs 25) and update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calculator + sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. HexaCalc asks for nothing beyond the download.

HexaCalc holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calculator + has 10K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Calculator +'s written reviews are positive against 100% of HexaCalc's.

Calculator + ships an update every 5 days, HexaCalc monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
