# Sky vs Airmate

The clearest difference is rating: Airmate at 4.5 against Sky's 3.0. Airmate also leads on ratings volume (545 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sky sells 12 one-off in-app purchases and Airmate sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Airmate holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Airmate has 545 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Sky's written reviews are positive against 75% of Airmate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sky ships an update monthly, Airmate every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
