# DigiKey vs Datasheet (PDF)

The clearest difference is rating: DigiKey at 4.7 against Datasheet (PDF)'s 3.7. DigiKey also leads on ratings volume (3.4K vs 3). Datasheet (PDF)'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DigiKey holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DigiKey has 3.4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of DigiKey's written reviews are positive against 75% of Datasheet (PDF)'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DigiKey ships an update every 2 months, Datasheet (PDF) every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
