# DigiKey vs TOPSIM

The clearest difference is rating: DigiKey at 4.7 against TOPSIM's 3.0. DigiKey also leads on ratings volume (3.5K vs 2). TOPSIM's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DigiKey holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DigiKey has 3.5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DigiKey ships an update every 2 months, TOPSIM monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
