# Cinépolis vs Jalowen

The clearest difference is rating: Jalowen at 3.0 against Cinépolis's 1.7. Jalowen also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Cinépolis's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 13 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jalowen sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Cinépolis asks for nothing beyond the download.

Jalowen holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cinépolis has 800 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 4% of Cinépolis's written reviews are positive against 0% of Jalowen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cinépolis ships an update every 3 weeks, Jalowen every 13 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
