# Courtyard vs Layer Platform

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Courtyard at 75% against Layer Platform's 0%. Courtyard also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Layer Platform's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Layer Platform holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 13 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Courtyard's written reviews are positive against 0% of Layer Platform's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Courtyard ships an update every 4 months, Layer Platform every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
