# SmartShanghai vs SH MaaS

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SH MaaS at 87% against SmartShanghai's 39%. SH MaaS also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). SmartShanghai's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (561 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SmartShanghai holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartShanghai has 561 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of SmartShanghai's written reviews are positive against 87% of SH MaaS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SmartShanghai ships an update every 3 months, SH MaaS every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
