# Youdao Dictionary vs Chat Plus

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chat Plus at 100% against Youdao Dictionary's 73%. Chat Plus also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 14.0). Youdao Dictionary's advantage is ratings volume (18K vs 17) and chart position (#174 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Youdao Dictionary sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Chat Plus sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chat Plus holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Youdao Dictionary has 18K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two.
