# YTN vs 다음

The clearest difference is update cadence: 다음 at every 2 weeks against YTN's every 2 months. 다음 also leads on rating (3.2 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (131 vs 12). YTN's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

다음 holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 다음 has 131 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 39% and 40% positive.

YTN ships an update every 2 months, 다음 every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
