# Diary Books vs Procedural

The clearest difference is monetization model: Diary Books at free with in-app purchases against Procedural's paid. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Diary Books sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Procedural sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Diary Books ships an update every 10 days, Procedural fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
