# Passwords Cloud vs Sync with iCloud Drive

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Passwords Cloud at 979 against Sync with iCloud Drive's 7. Sync with iCloud Drive's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months) and rating (4.9 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Passwords Cloud sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Sync with iCloud Drive sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sync with iCloud Drive holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Passwords Cloud has 979 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Passwords Cloud ships an update every 5 months, Sync with iCloud Drive every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
