# ADT Pulse ® vs X

ADT Pulse ® and X both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of X's written reviews are positive against 28% of ADT Pulse ®'s. X also leads on monetization model (free vs subscription) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). ADT Pulse ®'s advantage is ratings volume (850K vs 19) and device support (5 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

X holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ADT Pulse ® has 850K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 28% of ADT Pulse ®'s written reviews are positive against 100% of X's.

ADT Pulse ® ships an update every 3 months, X every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
