# Flag Up! Free vs RoomEight

The clearest difference is ads: Flag Up! Free at none against RoomEight's shown. Flag Up! Free also leads on iOS requirement (6.0 vs 26.1). RoomEight's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flag Up! Free sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and RoomEight sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flag Up! Free ships an update every 4 months, RoomEight fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
