# 3D Wallpapers Backgrounds vs Depth Wallpaper & Live Effect

The clearest difference is review sentiment: 3D Wallpapers Backgrounds at 78% against Depth Wallpaper & Live Effect's 16%. 3D Wallpapers Backgrounds also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0). Depth Wallpaper & Live Effect's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.6) and ratings volume (12K vs 80). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 3D Wallpapers Backgrounds sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Depth Wallpaper & Live Effect sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Depth Wallpaper & Live Effect holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Depth Wallpaper & Live Effect has 12K ratings behind it against 80, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of 3D Wallpapers Backgrounds's written reviews are positive against 16% of Depth Wallpaper & Live Effect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

3D Wallpapers Backgrounds ships an update every 5 weeks, Depth Wallpaper & Live Effect every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
