# Bible vs IVPT

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: IVPT at none against Bible's 1. IVPT also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Bible's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (3.4K vs 4). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bible sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. IVPT asks for nothing beyond the download.

IVPT holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bible has 3.4K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of Bible's written reviews are positive against 74% of IVPT's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bible ships an update every 10 days, IVPT every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
