# Slate.com vs TYT

Slate.com and TYT both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 53% of TYT's written reviews are positive against 33% of Slate.com's. Slate.com's advantage is chart position (#64 vs unranked) and ratings volume (9.1K vs 1K). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Slate.com sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and TYT sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Slate.com against 4.5 for TYT. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Slate.com has 9.1K ratings behind it against 1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 33% of Slate.com's written reviews are positive against 53% of TYT's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
