# Thermometer vs UV

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: UV at none against Thermometer's 1. UV also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thermometer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. UV asks for nothing beyond the download.

Thermometer ships an update every 2 months, UV monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 15, 2026 respectively.
