# DraftPad vs Color Notepad

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: DraftPad at none against Color Notepad's 1. DraftPad also leads on review sentiment (78% vs 47%) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 5 months). Color Notepad's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (603 vs 53). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Color Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. DraftPad asks for nothing beyond the download.

Color Notepad holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Color Notepad has 603 ratings behind it against 53, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of DraftPad's written reviews are positive against 47% of Color Notepad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DraftPad ships an update every 5 weeks, Color Notepad every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
