# Episoder vs Lately

The clearest difference is rating: Lately at 4.0 against Episoder's 3.4. Lately also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). Episoder's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (64% vs 46%). On price, ratings volume, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Episoder sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Lately asks for nothing beyond the download.

Lately holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 19 and 18 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Episoder's written reviews are positive against 46% of Lately's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Episoder ships an update every 3 days, Lately every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
