# Episoder vs Shows+ Discover & Track Series

The clearest difference is rating: Shows+ Discover & Track Series at 4.7 against Episoder's 3.4. Episoder's advantage is review sentiment (64% vs 33%) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Episoder sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Shows+ Discover & Track Series sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shows+ Discover & Track Series holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 19 and 40 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Episoder's written reviews are positive against 33% of Shows+ Discover & Track Series's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Episoder ships an update every 3 days, Shows+ Discover & Track Series every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
