# StoryCorps vs Scoir

StoryCorps and Scoir both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 72% of StoryCorps's written reviews are positive against 24% of Scoir's. Scoir's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Scoir holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.5K and 6.2K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of StoryCorps's written reviews are positive against 24% of Scoir's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

StoryCorps ships an update monthly, Scoir every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
