# Hot Video vs VideoGen

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VideoGen at 60% against Hot Video's 23%. VideoGen also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Hot Video's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and rating (3.4 vs 3.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VideoGen sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Hot Video asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hot Video holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Hot Video's written reviews are positive against 60% of VideoGen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hot Video ships an update every 2 months, VideoGen monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
