# Interval Ear Training vs Ear Training

The clearest difference is rating: Interval Ear Training at 4.7 against Ear Training's 4.0. Interval Ear Training also leads on ratings volume (359 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). Ear Training's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 19 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Ear Training sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ear Training sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Interval Ear Training holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Ear Training has 359 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Interval Ear Training's written reviews are positive against 95% of Ear Training's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Interval Ear Training ships an update every 19 months, Ear Training every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
