# Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker vs Aboard

The clearest difference is rating: Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker at 4.7 against Aboard's 4.2. Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (61K vs 12). Aboard's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 17.5). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Aboard sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker has 61K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker's written reviews are positive against 71% of Aboard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker ships an update every 10 days, Aboard every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
