# Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker vs Airplanes.live

The clearest difference is ads: Airplanes.live at none against Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker's shown. Airplanes.live also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker's advantage is ratings volume (61K vs 2) and review sentiment (64% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Airplanes.live sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Airplanes.live holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker has 61K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker's written reviews are positive against 50% of Airplanes.live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Plane Finder ⁃ Flight Tracker ships an update every 10 days, Airplanes.live fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
