# Keynote vs Microsoft Outlook

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Keynote at none against Microsoft Outlook's 4. Keynote also leads on ads (none vs shown) and device support (5 vs 3). Microsoft Outlook's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and rating (4.8 vs 4.4). On price, review sentiment and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Microsoft Outlook sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Keynote asks for nothing beyond the download.

Microsoft Outlook holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft Outlook has 9.3M ratings behind it against 84K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 62% of Keynote's written reviews are positive against 64% of Microsoft Outlook's.

Keynote ships an update every 3 months, Microsoft Outlook weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
