# Perfect OCR vs RPN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: RPN at 100% against Perfect OCR's 65%. RPN also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16). Perfect OCR's advantage is ratings volume (118 vs 7) and price ($0.99 vs $1.99). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Perfect OCR costs $0.99 and RPN $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

RPN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Perfect OCR has 118 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 65% of Perfect OCR's written reviews are positive against 100% of RPN's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
