# Document Manager for iPad vs Recorder

The clearest difference is price: Recorder at Free against Document Manager for iPad's $6.99. Recorder also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (413 vs 1). Document Manager for iPad's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.5). On review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Recorder is free to download; Document Manager for iPad costs $6.99 up front. Document Manager for iPad sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Recorder sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Document Manager for iPad holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Recorder has 413 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Document Manager for iPad's written reviews are positive against 43% of Recorder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Document Manager for iPad ships an update every 3 months, Recorder every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
