# True Backgammon vs Big 2

The clearest difference is price: True Backgammon at $3.99 against Big 2's $12.99. True Backgammon also leads on rating (4.3 vs 3.8) and ads (none vs shown). Big 2's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 48%). On in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

True Backgammon costs $3.99 and Big 2 $12.99 up front. True Backgammon sells 12 one-off in-app purchases and Big 2 sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

True Backgammon holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: True Backgammon has 2.6K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of True Backgammon's written reviews are positive against 60% of Big 2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

True Backgammon ships an update fortnightly, Big 2 every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
