# 3Cat vs Rubí Ciutat

The clearest difference is ads: Rubí Ciutat at none against 3Cat's shown. Rubí Ciutat also leads on review sentiment (63% vs 35%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). 3Cat's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 9 months) and rating (2.3 vs 2.0). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

3Cat holds the better App Store score, 2.3 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 3Cat has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of 3Cat's written reviews are positive against 63% of Rubí Ciutat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

3Cat ships an update every 6 weeks, Rubí Ciutat every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
